Hi! What a great opportunity for me. I get to spend almost two months at MYC4s office in Nairobi and has already been warmly welcomed by the staff here.
I am a TV-journalist working for Danish channel TV2. I got to know about MYC4 four years ago on a trip to Kampala, Uganda with founder Mads Kjaer to do a story about what was then a fairly new idea, MYC4. I spent some fascinating days there, and I dare say that the Danish viewers also found it interesting to learn about this way of funding. Got a lot of feedback from that (and quite a few new investors on the platform as well).
As a journalist with TV2 I’m privileged to have a sabbatical every six years, and this time I contacted Mads and asked him, if I could be of any use. Luckily he said yes, and here I am with Eric, Titus, Misha, Rachel, Githa and the rest of the nice people here. I’ll be blogging right here. But that’s just a part of it, I’ll do what I can to spread the word outside this blog as well, upload footage on U-Tube, write articles and maybe make another story for TV2 in Denmark.
About myself: I’m 56 years old, married to Annette, who is also a journalist. We live in Copenhagen, Denmark with our two sons, Mikkel (18) and Mads (16). When I’m not busy, I try to squeeze in a game of golf or a trip in my kayak (when the ice is gone).
