MYC4 hosted a partner conference in Nairobi, Kenya from January 27th – 29th. The theme of the conference was “partnering for growth”.
All of MYC4s partners were invited to present themselves and share their views. Actually “sharing” was one of the buzz words on the conference: Sharing knowledge, experiences, information , risk etc.
Founder and CEO of MYC4 Mads Kjær said in his opening address, that what MYC4 has done no one has ever done before. – There was no roadmap for us, we were the first, so naturally we have made lots of mistakes. We have stumbled and fallen lots of times, it was tough, but it is how you get up again, that makes you stronger. So be ready to fail, he said under the headline: 380 million Africans do not have a bank account.
– The biggest setback for MYC4 was without a doubt our experience with Ebony. A lot of people lost confidence in us, and that’s what this is all about: Trust. It takes time to rebounce, and I think we have rebuilt the trust, said Kjær.
(There will be more posts about the conference in the days to come)
