The pendulum swings again; running the MYC4 platform is very much about balancing available funds with African entrepreneurs looking for capital to grow their business. Too much available funds will jeopardize the natural market mechanism ending up with interest rates that are too low for many people to participate in the bidding. The pendulum swings in the other direction and too many African entrepreneurs are looking for capital that is not around, which means that the businesses will not get funded… lose-lose!
MYC4 is working on a sustainable solution to the movement of the pendulum, where we create a buffer in the MYC4 Foundation (donated funds, etc.) that kicks in when needed. See it as a faucet that we can turn up or down to balance the capital situation. But as the ‘pendulum-swing-buffer’ (ok, that was a Tim’ish invention!) is not entirely in place and because we have a beautiful pipeline of new businesses coming to MYC4 in the near future*, well then I would like to encourage all of you to an online brainstorm – right here, right now. The objective is straight forward and tangible; how do we sign up minimum 5,000 new investors before June 24…
Any help is appreciated – I mean, you can start now by spreading this post to all your friends on Facebook/Linkedin/etc. (the tools are just below this post) and please add why you think they should join now. You can also mail me; tim myc4.com
As mentioned several times on the blog; MYC4 has ‘regained the melody’ and to back this up, I overheard a little bird sing that the average return to investors from current Partners is still positive and this is even with a rough period on the currency exchange (disclaimer: this calculations are not over yet, so please take this part with a grain of salt). To put icing on top; the effect of the Risk Sharing agreements has not really kicked in yet! I assume the exact numbers will be out very soon.
I look forward to meet the objective of this post together with you… so please join ‘Operation Pendulum Swing’ with us.
*) New exciting Partners are undergoing final due diligence – soon to be found on MYC4 (this is top good news, but I simply could not break the long sentence in the text above – ha ha).
