As you might have noticed; we have released a ‘spring cleaned’ version of our platform earlier today. The time was right to lift the look of the site as well as make the core message of MYC4 stand more clear.
The site is building on the same back bone of web components as before and I am personally very satisfied with the end result. Especially taking into account how efficient we did it (I will come back to this part in a second)!!
One of the key changes I want to highlight here; note that we have exchanged the word; ‘Invest’ with ‘Lend’ all over the site… When Mads and I set out with MYC4 we wanted to introduce additional financial products as we progressed, so ‘Invest’ was the obvious choice, but we have to face the music and call it what it is today and not what it will be one day, and hey, we are connecting people who want to lend money with small businesses in Africa.
On the other hand, we have kept the name; ‘Investors’ which we could have called ‘Lenders’, but we are of the opinion that you (if you are lending money via MYC4) are investing in a greater future for Africa.
I mentioned efficiency earlier; well, like with the design of our logo there was no doubt that we wanted to use 99designs to get suggestions as to our ‘Spring Clean’. We got a lot of proposals, but it was rather clear, early in the process, who would run with the best design. I personally used quite some time on dialogues with all of the designers, but Yayay stood out according to design proposals, understanding our needs as well as her speed of delivery! And hey, it only took seven days to make the design framework!!
I asked Yayay (her 99design ‘artist name’) to write a couple of lines introducing herself, here goes:
“I am Arienne Antonio, 23 years old female from Philippines. A graphic/web designer, who spends majority of my time designing websites, banner ads, prints & packaging. I graduated computer networking course but creativity flow in my veins. I never stop working and searching for new proposal and build good relationship with my clients.”
Let me know what you think of our new site…
