Just a short note to follow up on my previous post where the ‘less than 5% FDI’ made me throw the ‘walk the talk’ card…
It is not just the big consulting companies that are spotting business opportunities in Africa; Google has for a long time been very active across Africa.
I support Google’s aim; ‘…get users online by developing a relevant, accessible, vibrant and self-sufficient Internet ecosystem’. I especially fancy the ‘relevant’ part as this is too often the weak link in a foreign company doing business in Africa – where a product is developed back home in Mountain View, California and then introduced in the streets of Nairobi.
Google has even taken it to the next level and the Google Developer Events is a clear indication that they see a potential in Africa being part of the value chain.
All for now… see you soon!
